Integrations
Use DECODE from your AI tools.
The DECODE MCP server connects Claude (or any agent that speaks the Model Context Protocol) to DECODE. Create projects, upload design files, run analysis, and read costing and DFM results without leaving the conversation.
Example
What a conversation can do.
you › Run a full report on the design package I just uploaded. decode › Project created, 14 files analyzed. Unit price $23.41 at qty 250. Two cost drivers flagged: 0.2 mm min drill, ENIG finish. you › Compare pricing at 100, 250, and 1,000 boards. decode › $31.87 / $23.41 / $17.02 per board. Component attrition dominates below 250; bare-board tooling amortizes out by 1,000. you › Any lifecycle risk in the BOM? decode › 2 of 87 parts flagged: one EOL with an in-stock alternate, one NRFND with a compatible substitute listed. you › Run a DFM check. decode › SpeedDFM finished: 3 findings, worst is annular ring below 0.1 mm on layer 3. Locations and severities listed.
Server URL
https://boardera.io/mcpConnecting opens Boardera sign-in and an approval screen in your browser (OAuth). There are no API keys to paste.
Tool usage draws on the same token allowance as the rest of your subscription.
Then set up the client you use:
Connect Claude
- In claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, open Settings → Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector and paste the server URL above.
- Click Connect, then sign in and approve when prompted.
- Boardera DECODE now appears in your connector list with its tools available.
Connect Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http boardera-decode https://boardera.io/mcpClaude Code prompts for sign-in on the first tool call. Run /mcp to check the connection or re-authenticate.
Other MCP Clients
Any client that supports the streamable HTTP transport with OAuth can connect. The usual configuration looks like:
{
"mcpServers": {
"boardera-decode": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://boardera.io/mcp"
}
}
}Available Tools
Account
boardera_account_statusCheck the connected account, subscription, and token allowance.
Upload
decode_upload_filesUpload PCB design files through an inline drop zone.decode_upload_local_filesFor agents with a shell: upload files from local disk straight to project storage.decode_upload_files_from_urlsAttach design files fetched server-side from https URLs.
Summaries
decode_costing_summaryChat-sized costed summary: unit price, order total, subtotals, cost drivers.decode_bom_reviewLine-by-line BOM review: lifecycle, compliance, sourcing.
Explore and query
decode_explore_apiDiscover the DECODE API: every operation, type, and hint, from the schema.decode_query_apiRun a validated read-only GraphQL query as the connected account.
DECODE API operations
decode_<operation>One tool per DECODE API query and mutation (create project, analyze, prices, exports, DFM, …), generated from the API schema with its description and arguments.
Building an integration in code instead? Use DECODE via the API: the same analysis as structured JSON.
